About Cheney Payroll Services

In February 2015, Cheney Payroll Services was incorporated in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

We aim to work with Businesses, small or larger, who are looking to implement a new payroll system or improve their existing system, whether that is a full or partial rebuild, or streamlining processes, calculations and elements.

Before the formation of Cheney Payroll Services, I worked in the rail industry, predominately in the Payroll teams, working my way from clerk to manager, but also working within the HR functions, as an analyst.  While working in the industry, there were lots of changes, in ownership, methodology and systems.

I have 28 year’s experience working within Payroll and HR functions, the majority of those in Payroll but a short period working in HR as an Analyst looking at sickness and manpower figures.  I have worked on various systems some in-house, but also worked with PS Enterprise and more recently Cascades HR system and MidlandHR’s iTrent system, which is where our technical expertise lies.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals, having passed my foundation degree in Payroll Management, and studying for their BA (Hons) in Applied Business and Management.  I am also a member of the Global Payroll Association and The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed. Regularly attended CPD event and courses run by the two largest payroll bodies to keep my knowledge of legislation up-to-date and current.
